They were my 3rd great-grandparents. They were married on Jan. 2, 1809 in Caswell County and listed on the 1810 census for Caswell. I beleive that they then were listed on the 1820 census for Williamson County, TN. Is this the same Stephen MORTON you might be looking for? Regards, Cindy
Hello List, I am seeking help in identifying a woman who appeared in the 1810 Federal Census for Caswell Co. NC, page 503, living in the household of Pharoah. The listing is: Somers, Fary, two white males under the age of 10, one free white male between the ages of 16 and 26, and one free white female between the ages of 26 and 45. Pharoah, a ten year old orphan in July of 1799, was indentured to George Summers until he was twenty-one. He became twenty-one in 1810 and apparently had just left he household of George Summers. Any help identifying this woman would be appreciated. John Summers Houston, Texas http://www.hal-pc.org/~jbsum/family/history.html
Mary is in a retirement home now, and Mrs. Rubinette Niemann had purchased all her and Dr. Lacy's copies of the books. There may only be one left. Her e-mail address is Niemann@naxs.com. I think I can help you with the names of the children of Mary and Nataniel ("Nate") Dillehay. Mary was my grandmother. Her true name was not Mary, it was Mabelia, which is why they all called her "May." She only has three children who are still living, Mary (my mom), Nathaniel Cornelius Dillehay (married to Christine Pulliam), and John Dillehay. My mom married William Frederick Trosclair in 1964, and has lived in Los Angeles, CA ever since. She has two daughters, myself (Terri-Dawn Trosclair) and Lauren Nicole Trosclair. Lauren Married Christopher C. Duncan, and they have a son Ryan Emanual Duncan. My grandmother had other sons: Roy, who was killed in a shooting back in the 1970's in D.C., lead a problematic life. He was an alcoholic, and lived much of his life in unfortunate circumstances. George, who drowned in a freak accident when he was a very young man on military leave (I t! hink we have a newspaper clipping describing the circumstances); Rayfield (I believe he was the baby who died from a snake bite). I believe there was another baby who was lost to crib death. I will ask my mother about it. I'll also ask her the names of Uncle Cornelius' children, and Uncle John's wife and children. Wee may even have an old photo album of my grandmother's. If we have, I'll scan some photos and e-mail them to you when I am able (I'm in the process of moving). T-D. Trosclair

I'm interested in hearing from someone that lives in Orange or Caswell Co., NC. I contacted the County Registrars for Orange/Caswell Co., NC to obtain copies of deeds and other records. I was advised that they had the records but I would need to have someone do the research to find the records...that they would not do it. Please reply with fee for services etc. B. F. Caddell
