I also am trying to prove out a few things. Elvin Perkins of Greensboro, NC, kindly shared his research with me, and he has documented extensive amount of information linking the Elmores, Grahams and Straders from NC to Green Co. This info is documented in wills, deed books, census data, etc. It is all authenicated in this manner. And let me further muddy the waters. Peter Elmore and Eliz Victor had all these kids.....but Eliz died in 10-20-1854, and Peter married again, this time he married Nancy O. Grayham. I am trying to determine if some of these children might be from their marriage? Regards and thanks, Karen Elmore-KY

    1. Frances Phillips/Philips wife of Peter Powell, Jr.
    2. I am looking for information for Frances Phillips/Philips, who married my 3rd great grandfather Peter Powell, Jr. on Sept. 19, 1832 in Caswell County, NC. As far as I have been able to find out, they had only one son, John Allen Powell, born Aug. 5, 1833 in Caswell County, NC. (According to Miscellaneous Legal Records from North Carolina in More About Peter Powell, Sr. - Notes) John A. Powell, son of Peter Powell, Jr. and Frances (Phillips) Powell, was brought to Missouri by his grandfather, Peter Powell, Sr., in 1839. His father died sometime the year before and he was actually bound to his grandfather on July 5, 1838, as an orphan. I am trying to determine what happened to John Allen Powell's parents, Peter Powell, Jr. and Frances Phillips -- dates they died, and where they are buried. I would also like to find out more about the family of Frances Phillips/Philips. If you can help with my search I would certainly be grateful. I have info on other descendants of Peter Powell, Sr.'s family to share if you are interested. Thanks in advance...Jo Ellen (Powell) Jester jej120643@aol.com Hurst, Texas

    1. Lucy Searcy, Widow of Bartlett Searcy ca 1797
    2. Lucy Searcy, after she was widowed by Bartlett Searcy, formerly of Granville Co., NC, continued to live in Madison Co., KY in the late 1790s and perhaps later. Can anyone help me 1) confirm Lucy's maiden name, alleged to be Williams of Granville Co., NC 2) identify this Joseph Williams who married Lucy's daughter? This allegation of Lucy's maiden name appears, without documentation, in Alvahn Holmes's publication SOME DESCENDANTS OF FARRAR'S ISLAND (FHL film 1033635, Item 1). Lucy Searcy is characterized as mother of the bride (giving consent) for the marriage in Madison Co., KY of her daughter Sally Searcy to Joseph Williams 21 Mar 1796; Robert Searcy was bondsman. Joseph is suspected [only a hunch, you genealogists] to be a son of Henry Williams and his wife Elizabeth of Caswell Co. NC. Reasons for this suspicion: 1. Henry Williams's daughter and son-in-law Richard Ready-Money Oldham and his wife the former Ursley/Ursala Duke Williams [widow of Reuben Peoples] migrated to Madison Co. from Caswell Co. ca 1787 or somewhat later. 2. Caswell Co., NC Deed Bk J-108-09: Joseph Williams of Madison Co., KY to Andrew McCauley of Orange Co., NC, for $300, 280 A on Stoney Cr [Caswell Co.] being part of tract willed Joseph Williams by Henry Williams decd. 13 Sept 1795.
