    1. Re: COOPER & WARREN
    2. Alice Ervin
    3. Diane, I believe your Fannie is the daughter of James Warren married to Sarah Link. James and Sarah had eight children: John, Larkin, William, Boswell, James, Thomas, Fanny and Nancy. I believe I am related to William Warren. He had a son John Warren, who married Huldah Harelson and is my great great grandfather. John and Huldah as well as William (I believe) are also buried in Cooper's Cemetery. There is a book by Holland D. Warren (The Warren's of Virginia and North Carolina) which traces "our" family back to a John R. Warren married to Rachel, they settled in Virginia but migrated over the years to other parts of Virginia and then to Halifax County then Caswell. You can borrow a copy of this book if your local library has a inter-library loan program. I was able to borrow it from the UNC-G library through my local library. There are copies at UNC-G amd UNC-Chapel Hill. Although Chapel Hill does not lend its copy. I am still working on tying my John Warren to James Warren, but am pretty sure of the tie. I have family lore which ties these two together but am looking for more substantial records. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Alice Ervin Diane Brown wrote: > I have Allen P. 1. Cooper and Warren (and Gray)
    2. Diane in AL, It's a stretch, but I have an Alexander GRAY II b:1766 married ~1790 Mary WARREN. Alexander is from Halifax Co., VA; on tax rolls there in 1795. Moved to Burke Co., NC; listed as a juror in 1799 and on census of 1800. The only info I have on Mary WARREN is that she was born ~1774. The Gray family lived right on the border between VA and NC (their property literally abutted NC). I don't know where this is in relation to Caswell Co. Like I said, it's a stretch, but your Fannie and my Mary may be sisters or cousins. Joyce e-mail [email protected]
