I have Jos Bell's List of taxables for 1795 posted on my Carteret County Site (http://www.mindspring.com/~jsruss/carteret). I've not gone through everything at the NC Archives so I can't tell you which other tax lists prior to 1802 might exist. The County Court Minutes are an invaluable resource for Carteret County and an abstract of the minutes from 1723-1820 were published by the late Rebecca W. Sanders in book form. At one time the Carteret County Historical and Genealogical Society were selling copies of these abstracts on diskette.
