They were married in Craven County, according to the record, Sept. 31, 1880. I did not know there was but 30 days in September. They are listed as "White". He was 22 and she was 19. They were married by James E. Brister M.M.E.C.South,at the residence of W. Parker, witnesses were Haywood Huff & Archy Walker. From Bill Mason's book "A Little History of Turnagin Bay": "Ambrosa Pittman, b. 1857, married Hannah A. Gilbert and lived at Turnagain Bay and after the great August storm in 1899 they moved to Stacy, N.C. They had seven children: Jannie; Elizabeth; Bertie, b. 1888; Andrew, b. 1892; Johnny, b. 1896 and twins Meridth and James, b. 1902." Hannah died in 1905 and is said to be buried in Stacy Community Cemetery. Ambros married Emeline Lewis March 3, 1909 in Carteret County. Ambros died January 19, 1941 at Salter Path. He is also buried in Stacy Community Cemetery according to his death certificate.! I have never been able to locate either grave. Hannah's parents were James Gilbert and Jane Hamilton married in Craven County 31 Mar 1851. They are buried in "Gilbert Family Cemetery" North side of Big Creek,South River. I have found records of 3 children: Hannah; Elizabeth who married James Tosto and Andrew who married Minnie Dixon.
