I am currenty visiting my parents in Va. Beach. I am flying back to Homestead, Florida tomorrow. I am reading a book by Dollie C. Carraway titled "South River, A local History from Turnagain Bay to Adams Creek". This book goes into detail about the families in the area including Lukens. I have another book "The Heritage of Carteret County North Carolina" Volume I - 1982. This book also has information on Lukens and South River. Many of my relatives are buried in the cemetery in Lukens. I walked the property of Lukens years ago with my Grandfather, Charles C. Edwards, his father was Charles Henry Edwards and his Mother was Sarah Pittman Edwards. My Grandfather, Charles C. Edwards, was born in Lukens. His wife, my Grandmother was Maude Mason Edwards and my Mother is Ruby Hazel Edwards Adams. My Mother was born in Atlantic, NC. She is 80 years old.
