He enlisted in Onslow County, NC for duration of 12 months. By June 6, 1862 he was in military hospital at Wilmington, NC with rubela (measles). He was to return to duty June 11, 1862 and was shown present on the May - June roster. By the July - Aug 1862 roster he was listed as "Absent without leave". Delamer enrolled with the Union Troops on Oct. 27, 1862 at Beaufort, NC for the duration of the war. He was mustered in Oct. 31, 1862 with the 1st Regiment Company F NC Infantry--Union. Listed as age 28. He was mustered out at New Bern, NC on (?) June 27, 1865. Delamer was 5ft 7 and a half inches tall. He had light complexion, light hair and blue eyes.
