    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Green, Newton and Johnston Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BVB.2ACI/1013.1 Message Board Post: Denise, In 1730, Matthew, Jonathan and Isaac Green came to Carteret County from Falmouth, Mass. Jonathan and Isaac bought land in Cateret County. Matthew died in Carteret County prior to 1749, when his widow Christian, married Daniel Catholick. Mathew and Christian had a son Matthew II who was underage, and on 6/8/1749, Daniel Catholick was appointed as adm of the estate of Matthew I. I think that Matthew II had a sister Martha who married Samuel Middleton. They had a son Stephen Middleton. Anyway, in the Onslow deeds, in 1758, Danial Catholick gave young Matthew some land, so Matthew must have been of age then. In the Onslow tax list of 1770, there were three Greens, Matthew, John and William. This might be a long shot, but it could be worth you checking out. I have checked out worse.
