Gramer to the chair, and appointing D. H. L. Bell secretary. The chair stated the object of the meeting to be the nomination of candidates to represent this county in General Assembly of NC. On a motion of B. Staton, C. R. Thomas Esq, was unanimously nominated as a suitable candidate to represent this county in the House of Commons. And , on motion, LEVI T. OGLESBY, Esq. was nominated to represent the Senatorial Distric, composed of the counties of Carteret and Jones, in the next Legislature". May
