I can find no record of Alvin Piver (or Piner). There is no marriage record or bastardy bond, nor do I see him in the Carteret Co. censuses. Susan Arthur may have been the daughter of Jacob Arthur and Matilda Wade, who were married in 1847. They had a daughter, Susan J., born about 1848. This doesn’t quite agree with the age of 55 given for Susan in 1910, but ages given in censuses are often inaccurate. This Susan was an unmarried head of household in 1900. With respect to ages, you have Mary Goulding born in 1888. Yet she listed her age as 17 on her 1907 marriage license and the 1910 census shows her as 18. Also, he parents were married in Jan. 1890.
