He was married to Virginia Catherine Holden of Brunswick Co. According to his death certificate located in Brunswick Co. Robert was born in Beaufort, NC on August 10, 1857 and died in Southport on Dec. 26, 1919. He was the son of Jacob Lewis and Janie Wilson.
