    1. Families Who Went by Wagon Train to Alabama in 1830s
    2. My ancestor, Lovey NELSON LITCHFIELD, and her family, plus several other families moved to middle Alabama--Marengo County--in the 1830s from Carteret County, NC. Lovey married Asa LITCHFIELD in Perry County, AL, shortly after she arrived there. I think Asa was already there. BUT, if anyone knows for sure that Asa was on the train with her, I'd like to know that, too. Has anyone determined the exact route this wagon train took? What specific families and how many people were on the wagon train? I think it took about 90 days to complete the trip. What bodies of water did they have to cross? I would love to hear from any of you whose kin were on the same wagon train or from those of you who have knowledge about the trip. Thanks for your help! Kathryn U. Griffin
