Joseph B.served in US Army 1863-1865.,was discharged in New Bern in 1865,after spending most of his military time in Portsmouth Hospital,on the Outer Banks.I have never been able to determine how wife and children,(1 or 2 at that time)came to be in Carteret Co.Surely there is someone else out there looking for info on this family. They left many descendants in Carteret Co, and most are still there.
