John Wesley VANCE, Sr. b bet. 1795-1796 NC and d 1873. This one married Elizabeth "Lizzie" DAVIS b 24 Sep 1796 NC d 10 O"ct 1883. They had 5 children including Thomas, Barbara "Barbary", William "Billy", Flemming, and John Wesley VANCE, Jr. John Wesley VANCE, Jr. b 05 Dec 1841 NC d 11 May 1917 Avery Co., NC married Lilly Ann ISAACS b 1845 Yancey Co., NC d 1935. They had at least one child named Robert VANCE 1884-1952. My third John Wesley VANCE b 09 Sep 1865 Crossnore, Avery Co., NC d 10 Feb 1925 married Mary Martha "Emma" CUTHBERTSON b 08 Apr 1869 - 1873 Mitchell Co., NC. They had at least 9 children including Sterling O., Howard H., Maida, Ira Mckenion, Elvada, Zebulon "Zeb" B., Shelby William, Edna, and Charlie.
