There are more and more genealogy sites in Yahoo groups. I particularly like one called Ancestor Hunters. Brownie MacKie In a message dated 4/14/2008 9:21:05 A.M. I'm sure most folks are wondering the same thing. As far as the hosting address of Project pages, USGenWeb Project policy leaves the housing of hosted pages to the discretion of the individual county coordinator. The pages you list in your message have been moved to the ncgenweb.us server and can be reached as follows: http://www.ncgenweb.us/catawba/ http://www.ncgenweb.usncburke/ http://www.ncgenweb.us/clincoln/ http://www.ncgenweb.us/gaston/ http://www.ncgenweb.us/cleveland/ http://www.ncgenweb.us/conover/ The Genealogy Network/Ancestry.com family continues to host many Project pages and, to the best of my knowledge, all of the mailing lists. These mailing lists will continue to be housed on RootsWeb servers for the foreseeable future. No decisions, I am aware of, have been made to move them. The same applies to the list archives. The USGenWeb Project home page has been moved to http://www.usgenweb.org/ This will direct the user to all states and Projects affiliated with the USGWP. It might be noted that there is no state or national mandate that Project pages be moved from RW servers or retained thereon. 59 NC County pages and the NC Military Project pages have moved to the ncgenweb.us server. These are listed at http://www.ncgenweb.us/ The remaining NCGenWeb Project reside on either on the RW servers or a variety of private servers. They are listed on the NCGenWeb Project home page at: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ncgenweb/ The NCGenWeb (and other states) Digital Library pages have moved to: http://usgwarchives.org/ Some counties and/or Project pages may or may not eventually migrate to other servers. Should anyone have additional questions regarding these issues, please feel free to contact me privately. Any changes that affect the pages which I host will be made by notice to the appropriate list. --Derick S.
