The names James, John, Samuel were used in profusion in the Greenlee families. I suspect this land in Monroe Co., TN was at one point owned as part of the families bounty land warrant collection and proficient land speculating. If my memory serves me correctly, Monroe Co., TN borders present day North Carolina counties of Cherokee and Graham(once part of Buncombe Co, formed 1791, from Rutherford and a smaller portion of Burke Co., NC), that area now east Tennessee was being claimed by the early settler families of western NC by 1780 after the defeat of the British, who had outlawed settlement past the crest of the Blue Ridge of the Alleghanies.
