    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Walker Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5UB.2ACI/2728 Message Board Post: I am attempting to locate a Male Walker from this line for the Walker DNA project. The Walker male must be living and be willing to have a cue-tip type swab, swab the inside of his mouth to gather cells for the proceedure. [The person does the swabbing themselves, no nurse is involved, everything is handled by mail]. I will pay the persons fee if they are willing to participate in the study. My grandmother, Annie Lou Walker was Andrew Jackson Walker of Burke County's sister. She was mistakenly left out of the Book "Genealogy Of Thomas Walker From Ireland, 1720". In order to participate in the study, it must be a male with the surname 'Walker' because this is the only genetic testing that is available to us for this study. The chromosomes that are studied are passed down only from father-to-son. One generation above 'Andrew Jackson Walker', the male children of William and Ann Walker were: ROBERT Reuben, born 1812, married Myra Dorsey: MALE WILLIAM Johnson, born February 7, 1820, died May 9, 1904, went to Calif. with Sylvester Bettis and died there;** MALE ******ARTHUR, born 1833, died June 7, 1920, married Nancy Ann Johnson (My 2grandfather)****** THOMAS Jefferson , born August 12, 1830, died June 7, 1920, married Nancy Jane Simpson (Male) The female children, who's descendants cannot participate in the study are listed below. They are listed for the purpose of 'information only' in case any of the descendants in their line MAY be able to give me information on the generation of MALE descendants of the Andrew Jackson Walker and his brother/brothers who are in my Walker family lineage. The females of the generation preceding Andrew Jackson Walker's generation are: Margaret S. born May 15, 1822, died May 17, 1906, married William H. Cooper born December 20, 1822, died November 1861. Margaret married secondly, Christopher Epley Adeline, born June 21, 1823, died June 21, 1900, married Sylvester Bettis Martha Jane, born March 24,1829, died October 20, 1906 married Houston Alexander Erwin Elizabeth, born October 2, 1837, died October 2,190? married Nathaniel Chesley Oliphant Elvira, born 1815, married Thomas Dorsey Sophronia, born 1817, married Arthur Patton / Patten Mary Eliza, born September 6, 1817, died December 24, 1913, married William Barr Patton / Patten Margaret S. born May 15, 1822, died May 17, 1906, married William H. Cooper born December 20, 1822, died November 1861. Margaret's second husband was Christopher Epley ***The Walker genealogy listed above is credited to Margaret Denise Clarke - Thank you so much Margaret! I made a few slight alterations.*** However, the only person that can qualify for me to participate in the DNA study, must be a descendant of ARTHUR Walker or one of Arthur's sons descendants. The only name that I have is ANDREW Jackson Walker as a son of Arthur, but I think that he had another son, brother to Andrew, who 'may' have been named THOMAS. Thank you to any and all that can help me find my Male Walker or give me any additional information about this line's genealogy. Joy English
