    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5UB.2ACI/2728.1 Message Board Post: I was mistaken when I listed my great Uncle as Andrew Jackson Walker ... it's Andrew Johnston Walker. Andrew was the first man to own/drive a car in Burke County. He also started a taxi service and he and his wife (name?) owned and operated a hotel in Morganton. Other males in this line include: ROBERT A. Walker who went to California during the Gold Rush with Silvester Bettis. He returned to Burke County and married Nancy _ ?. WILLIAM I. Walker – year/day _ ? in August married Ola Kincade Here is the name I believe is one of William I. Walker's sons or descendants: Edward Walker b. 15th of Dec. 1887 d. 22nd of Sept. 1985 - Married Hattie Brittian Robert and Nancy Walker appear to have six children and are enumerated right beside Robert's mother and father - Arthur and Nancy Walker. This info comes from the 1880 Burke County Census (page 4 of 31) they are all in the Silver Creek Township. Two of Robert and Nancy Walker's six children appear to be: Joseph and Hattie Walker [the image isn't clear] I'm searching for anyone associated with this line. Here is a photo of a Walker Reunion in the late 1930s. Andrew Johnston Walker is the older man with the white hair sitting in the center of the photo. My great grandmother, his sister, Annie Lou Walker is sitting on the right in the photo and another sister I believe to be Martha J. Walker is sitting on the left of the photo beside Andrew. If you know anything about anyone in the photo, please either email or post a message here. Many thanks, Joy English
