    2. Derick, Thanks for nipping this problem in the bud. As pointed out in several other messages, the Camins' published abstracts does contain errors. *Any* source whether it is a transcription, an abstract, a genealogy, a family group sheet, an e-mail, or family lore requires careful evaluation before considering it authoritative. The best method is to use the source for clues and follow up by examining the original record. In response to the question from another poster about how to determine the name of the father on the Camins' abstracts of bastardy bonds -- the answer is that abstracts of bastardy bonds cannot be used to identify the reputed father. The original bond and accompanying papers must be researched to make that determination.
