I descend from William's son, Elijah and Elijah's second wife, Sarah Pope. I would have to review the copy of William's pension that I have, but I thought that he said in it that he was born in NC. I have visited the Bethel Baptist Church cemetery hoping to find his grave. I wondered if he might be at the top of the knoll which was without markers as other members of the family were close by. Do you know if the church has any early records? I have intended to try to contact them but have procrastinated. Thank you, again, Ruth Christian
