My great great grandmother (or at least who I think might be my great great grandmother) died in 1892. Is there much chance at all for finding a death record at the county level for her? Would there be anything currently available at the library with an obit from this time frame? I live in Richmond, VA and am happy to send off to the proper sources, but was hoping for a clue that sending off could have some possibility of success or not before I did.
