    3. According to the death certificate of Mrs. Sarah Lail Knox, her husband was John Knox. He died prior to Sarah's death, as she is listed as widowed at the time of her death. She died April 19, 1942 in Icard, Burke Co., North Carolina. Cause of death was a fractured hip due to a fall in her kitchen. Informant was Estelle _rank: Daughter. (can not read first letter of last name) Her parents are listed as Daniel Lail and Harriet Townsend. Sarah is buried at Cline Cememetery. John Theodore Knox died April 6, 1940 in the State Hopsital in Morganton, NC. (Could this be Broughton Hosptial?) At the time of his death, he was married to Sarah Lail. HIs parents are William Knox (born in Ireland, UK) and Sarah Zimmerman. Date of birth is 01 Jan 1871 in Burke Co., NC. There is no cemetery listed on the death certificate, on states that the body was removed from the hospital on 04-08-1940, by Undertaker M. A. Mackie Ba__ of Granite Falls, NC. Informant on death certificate is listed as State Hospital Records, Morganton, NC. Haven't found anything on Lucinda Ervin. What relationship was she to John? You can then track the Rinks through the census and also find a death certificate (NC) for Eliza Rink that fits the person described below. Most of the census records show Eliza having been born in the mid 1830's. However, Eliza's death certificate does say she was born in 1824. Eliza Lutz Rink appears to have lived in Ickard in Burke Co most of her life. Nancy Two different folks reading same tombstone came up with the following data-- On page 36 of BC Cemeteries, Book 2, Cline Cemetery on Costner Road, Burke/Catawba Co., NC, is this entry - Eliza Ann Lutz Wrink 24 Nov 1824 - 24 Dec 1926, 102 years old, wife of Miles Wrink. The entry on page 53 of Catawba Co. Cemeteries, Vol. 5, same cemetery, shown as - Elisa Ann Lutz, wife of Milas Wailk, same dates, age 102 years. This lady does not show up in 1900 Burke Co. Census nor is she listed in either the 1900 or 1910 Catawba Co., Censuses. I haven't found her in any marriage record so far under surname of Lutes or Lutz or Loots, etc. A lady of this age had to have been known in the area. Would someone be so kind as to clue me in on her? Ann K. Propst, Brevard, NC

I cannot prove with certainty any connection to my John Hall. We do have documentation (census, court & tax records) of them living in Bedford County, Tennessee. Most of the John Hall family except their son, John Hall Jr. moved to Texas about 1838. A few of them stayed in Tennessee. There is documentation of their moves. John Hall Jr. moved to Alabama and his descendants still live there.
