    1. [NCBURKE] "HERITAGE OF TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA Vol II"
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: WyleneAlston51 Surnames: Many families had connection in Burke Co., Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.northcarolina.counties.burke/4749/mb.ashx Message Board Post: IMPORTANT: This book is about to be out of print! The Transylvania Genealogy Group (Transylvania County NC) is working to get the news out that just over 100 copies remain of the new county heritage book, "The Heritage of Transylvania County, North Carolina Vol II." The book has enjoyed remarkable advance sales, far higher than expected, and equally high post-publication sales. The book is soon to be out of print. The genealogy group has no plans to do a reprint. Volume II of the Transylvania heritage book is twice the size of volume I and features 846 individual articles, including 58 articles detailing the general history of the county, 215 articles honoring county veterans from the Rev. War to the present, and a huge family history section featuring 573 articles on local families. The "full name" index alone is 28 pages! To order a copy, please visit the project website order page http://nc.county-heritage.com/transylvania/orderform.htm and print the order. Complete the form and mail with your check per the printed instructions. Orders are shipped weekly, as long as the supply lasts. NOTE: Due to high demand from the public, plans are to reprint Volume I of the Transylvania heritage book series as soon as the inventory is depleted for Volume II. If you would like to be on a waiting list to be notified when volume I is reprinted, please let us know. For more information, please feel free to contact us. 1. Re: [NCBURKE] Requesting Info on Mills Denton to Jon
    2. Ann, Thanks for your quick reply. I have info that suggests Mills Denton's wife was Sarah Crawley, daughter of John Crawley (1795-1835) and Mary Pearson (1796-1881). The 1850 Census shows that Mills and Sarah Denton had a Louisa Crawley living with them in their household. She was 16 at the time which would put her birth abt 1834. I have information that John Crawley and Mary Pearson also had a daughter, Louisa, born this same year. I realize this is not proof of these relationships, but it is a compelling lead. Thanks for all you shared. Jon Edge In a message dated 8/11/2008 10:09:23 P.M. Referred to here in a post in 2001. I didn't think they listed names of children? Must be a state census? Allso I have Rachel as born in MD and I've seen a reference to Isaac (I think) as born there too? Any idea on this? Also, you're all so interested in the Martins and I'm obsessed with a thirty year mystery of the Lows, Margaret, daughter of Nathan who married Isaac Martin Shell. She was born in White Co but it's likely that White Co at one time encompassed Warren Co. Where do I find a list of all the Lows in the area like that of the Martins? She is my mother's mother's mother's line. I'm dying to find her and her mother in particular! It's the shortest limb in my tree and I'm so frustrated! Any help?
