Tamara; Get you a good Atlas and check the Kentucky map. Big Sandy River divides KY & WV . There has been a lot published on Pike and Floyd Counties KY referring to "The Big Sandy Valley" . I don't know about the other counties. There are many waterways that flow into the "Big Sandy and are known as " the branch of" . My son-in-law is from Pike County, but the names I've worked with aren't involved with your surnames. He was reared just 8 miles form Williamson, WV and his families have been there "forever". I do know some of his lines are from SW NC who migrated to that area to work in the coal mines in early 1800s. Aldridge isn't one of them. I hope this helps you get started. You might do a google search on "Big Sandy River and see what comes up. It's been a long while since I have worked on the Youngs, but the Joshua Youngs I am aware of are: Joshua Young (c1747-1792), son of Sewell Young Sr. Spouse: Rachel. Joshua Young (1769-after April 1840), son of Thomas and Naomi Young. Spouse: Mary Pritchett. Joshua Young Jr., probable son of Joshua and Rachel Young. Spouse: Sally Mashburn. Joshua Young (c1796-), son of Strawbridge and Martha (Wilson) Young; grandson of Thomas and Naomi Young. Spouse: Margaret Barnard There were others born in the 1800s that I won't get into.
