This family (or parts of it) relocated to Anson County by about 1810. A James Duncan of Anson signed an affidavit in 1838 stating that his father was James Duncan, and that his mother was a daughter of Abraham Hill and sister of Revolutionary Pension Applicant, John Hill. This affiant, I've concluded, is the one known in Anson as "James Duncan, Sr.", who married Mary Coburn and was father of James Ross Duncan, my Great-Great-Great Grandfather. Do you have any info on the earliest Duncan family of Bladen/Roberson and/or possibly New Hanover ? Thanks.
