    3. Good morning, Birt, although it will be afternoon before we finish wading through this. I have been going through books for the last hour and I think I will just send you what I find as I find it. There is a lot of information available on the children of both John and James but I will leave those alone until you tell me otherwise. A lot of the entries that I'm sending you will be as much to "disprove" as to "prove" so watch the dates, names and locations. Frequently I will give you only the fact that I have something and you must let me know if you don't have it and want it. I will not attempt to group the entries into which person it refers to. The number that I use at the beginning of each entry refers to a corresponding bibliography. Click on the URL below my name and you will find a list of the books that I have. For the dozens of books that aren't on the url I will give you that cite as needed. >From # 141 1. The Will of Mary Laroche, Charleston, dated 31 Aug. 1759 2. The first six signers of this petition were French Protestants: Isaac Mazyck, James St. Julien, James Dupoius Dor (Dupois d'or), Paul Douxsaint, Elias Foissin, and Henry Peronneau. Dear Dee: I have read some of your postings on the NC-SC list, and wonder if you could help me? I am rather tied down to my dialysis 3 times a week, and my only source of geneo info is the net. On a very limited retirement, I have to be very careful of my expenses, and am extremely thankful for people like you who can help ----------- I need two (at least !! ) marriages-- Two different John LaRoche's #1. and #2 #1 was Capt John LaRoche, immigrant, and brother of immigrant James LaRoche. According to his descendants, This John, of Charleston, married first Mary Tauvron, had four children and then married second, Mary Horry and had 3 more children. ::: " > .;; .; ;HTML created by GED2HTML v3.0 (2/2/97) on Tue Nov 16 10:57:35 1999. > Daniel HORRY BIRTH: 1660, Isle de Re, France DEATH: BEFORE 1696, South Carolina Transactions of Huguenot Society of SC > Father: Jean HORRY Mother: Madeline DUFRUE Family 1: Elizabeth GARNIER MARRIAGE: 10 AUG 1692, South Carolina Transactions of Huguenot Society of SC > Elizabeth Marye HORRY > Lidie HORRY > Mary HORRY > ***************************** ; ; .; ; .; ;HTML created by GED2HTML v3.0 (2/2/97) on Tue Nov 16> 10:57:36 1999. > Mary HORRY > BIRTH: BEFORE 1696, South Carolina > Father: Daniel HORRY Mother: Elizabeth GARNIER Family 1: John LAROCHE > MARRIAGE: 28 AUG 1714, ***St. Thomas and St. Denis Parish SC *** Transactions of Huguenot Society of SC [[ Following 4 are sons of John LaRoche and Mary Tauvron > Thomas LAROCHE > Daniel LAROCHE > Mary LAROCHE > Judith LAROCHE > Susannah LAROCHE [[dau. of John LaRoche and Mary Horry]] > Elizabeth LAROCHE [[ " " " ]] > Anne LAROCHE [[ " " " ]] #2 was John LaRoche, son of the immigrant James LaRoche. This John LaRoche was born before 1693, Lived on Wadmalaw Island, with his wife Mary. Died 1761. Will was probated Nov. 20 1761. The trustee of his estate was in Georgia; His children's names were James, Benjamin, Anne, and Abigail {{Lucy CHARPIE, HC64 Box 142-A, Swansea, SC 29160 USA 803-796-9523, l.charpie@att.net -- has John LaRoche1693-1759 married Aug 28?1714 to Lidie Marye Horry1694--1759 and children James, Benjamin, Anne, Abigail }} But when queried, did not seem to have proof that this Mary was Lidie Marye Horry}} {{Mary Coker said:: "Daniel Horry and Elizabeth Garnier had three daughters: Elizabeth Marye, Mary, and Liddie (I have seen that written as Liddie Marye) "....("...I have never seen the name Mary Horry in a will. .....") ----Mary Coker has Capt John LaRoche, b. bef 1693, d. 1723, married first to Mary Tauvron, and second on Aug 28-29 1714, to "Mary Horry" who moved to Georgetown after John's 1723 death. She took with her to Georgetown any of Mary Tauvron's children who were still living at home, probably all:: Daniel, Thomas, Mary, & Judith {all were under 21 } --and her own three children aged over 8,6,&2-- Susannah, b.1715; Elizabeth b.1717, d. aft 1759; & Anne, b. 16 Apr 1721, d.1Feb 1745. }} BUT Joe Rivers believes Capt John LaRoche (#one) d 1723 was married second to Mary, (not Horry), and that later researchers added the name Horry. BUT, John Tindal says ::: " ...I believe my line is through John LaRoche (#two) II (1690-1760) who married Mary (her last name not recovered). However, I'm afraid I have not been able to convince some of my cousins about this" This one has been in controversy a long time. I think the solution is going to have to be found in marriage records for the two John LaRoches, Lidie Marye Horry, Mary Horry, and as an additional possibility, -- <Mary Magdalene Horry Birth: 1715 Craven, South Carolina Christening:Death: 29 Aug 1767 Prince George Parish, Horry County, South Carolina.> I hope you might have time to see if any of these marriage records exist. Thank you for any help you can give me. The Rev. W. Birt Sams,(retired) Box 64 Meridian GA 31319 P.S. Please let me know if there is any expense involved here, and let me know what it might be.
