Hi Y'all, I'm looking for information on the licensing of two early Rowan county ferries. I haven't found either in the Rowan records, which puts them before 1753. If they were licensed between 1750 and 1753, that would have been done in Anson county, and the records are lost. I'm hoping against hope they were licensed in Bladen county before 1750. Hopefully it would be in the court records. I'd really appreciate any references. 1. John Long's ferry on the Yadkin (Adkin/Atkin) River. It was a little west or north of the Trading Ford. Hard to come up with another geographical reference. Salisbury didn't exist before 1755. The two nearest settlements were the Jersey and Cathey's/Irish. 2. Trading Ford ferry on the Yadkin (Adkin/Atkin) River. Could also mention the Trading Path or the island. I don't know the person involved. HELP!
