From # 241 FAYETTEVILLE OBSERVER, Fayetteville, N.C., Tuesday, September 7, 1847 Vol. XXIX # 1579 DEATHS DIED, in Wayne county, on the 27th ultimo, Miss Eliza M., daughter of Elias and Margaret Faison, of Sampson county, aged 15 years. FAYETTEVILLE OBSERVER, Fayetteville, N.C., Monday, April 11, 1859 Vol. XLII # 2184 DEATHS DIED, at the residence of his father, Mr. Elias Faison in Sampson county, on the 28th ult., Dr. Elias K. Faison, aged 30 years. NORTH CAROLINA PRESBYTERIAN, Fayetteville, N.C., August 25, 1869, Vol. XII # 563 DEATHS DIES, at his residence in Duplin county, on the 30th July, Elias Faison, in the 88th year of his age. The subject of this brief notice was one whose memory will long be cherished in the community in which he lived. Possessing a character singularly amiable and attractive, he was beloved by all for his many virtues; and though he outlived the friends and companions of his youth, he had become equally dear to those who had since risen up around him. In courtesy of manners and politeness of address, Mr. Faison, presented a fine example of the Southern christian gentleman of the old school, and was remarkable through life for his benevolence and liberal and generous hospitality. Distinguished at all times for strict morality, he was for several years before his death a consistent professor of religion, and though his failing strength and increasing infirmities had deprived him for some time of the privileges of the sanctuary, he felt a deep interest in the prosperity of the ! Church, and was supported and cheered by an humble dependence on the promises of God, and an undoubting faith in the truth of the gospel. After a brief interval he follows to the grave his beloved companion. Providence had denide [sic] them children of their own - but their many virtues have secured for both a grateful and lasting remembrance here - while in another state of being they have entered, we trust, upon that rest which remaineth unto the people of God, and enjoy the bliss of being forever with the Lord.
