    2. Helen, In reference to military records, MYGGgrandfather John W. Smith was a Capt or Lt in the civil war and I am told he was drowned in the CapeFear returning from a prisoner swap to Virginia. He was from Bladen County. My GGGrandfather, Enoch Boradeaux was captured at Fort Fisher and taken to Elmira as a POW, and died there. another GGrandfather, Hugh Lockerman was also in the civil was and was buried in the family cemetery in Salemburg, NC. Any info on these will be helpful.
