Having never really lived in Lumberton, I never met a lot of my mom's cousins, but while she was growing up, she was close to her cousins, and they have all stayed in touch with her over the years. To that end, I'd like to post a death for those of you with connections to the JOHNSON family of Daniel Riley JOHNSON & Emma Frances CARLISLE (my ggp's) and William Alexander MUSSELWHITE and Flora Ann MUSSELWHITE. Because Mom couldn't remember if Marvin lived in Bladen County or Robeson, I am posting to both lists. Oney JOHNSON, d/o Daniel (and sister of John Henry JOHNSON), married Emory Marvin MUSSELWHITE. One of their sons, Amory(sic) Marvin MUSSELWHITE, b 26 Feb 1926, died unexpectedly on Mar 24, 2007. Her cousin's dtr, Elsie, (Marvin's niece) said that Marvin shot himself. Lynn, Johnson were in both counties, but your Musselwhite's were in Robeson Co NC. The Musselwhite Family Reunion will be held here at Westside Baptist Church on the first Sunday in May. Do your Johnson's tie anywhere into an Ervin Brown who married 1st Parthanea Johnson and later Lucy Johnson. Ervin was born in either 1810/1813 or 1822 in NC and died in Maury Co, TN. Parthanea was born abt 1822 in TN. Both girls are believed to be daughters of William Johnson and Lucy born abt 1790 in NC. All help appreciated.
