Did you know there was a Munn Plantation? I am not sure how far back it dates, but I know to around the time of the Civil War. My Aunt's maiden name was Munn and she and my uncle now live on what use to be the old Munn Plantation. They are white. I have been there many times as a child. I wish I could promises you all some help, but I do not know if I can or not. I know they have some deeds of slave sales they found in the house as well as many other artifacts. They have a Civil War sword used by an ancestor I believe to be Daniel Munn who served at Ft, Fisher during the Civil War. There is a picture of him in the museum at Ft. Fisher. It was donated by my aunt. From what I have been told over the years slaves took on their owners last names. I have not watched your conversation real close, but thought I might be of a little help. I hope I have been. By the way. The plantation I speak! of is located in a little community called Tar Heel in Bladen County. The old home still stands, but barely. It has been moved from it's original location. It was a white two story when I saw it and had an upstairs sitting room where they use to keep the chickens from what I have been told. Like I said, I use to visit there and play there as a kid. It has a pond on the property, HAD grape orchards, lots of trees and is way back in the woods. There is a Munn and Munn's grocery store in Tar Heel as well. I imagine some of them are your relatives. I will help in any way I can, but I do not think I will be able to much. I cannot even get this branch of the family to help me with our own family history. Also, Cannady connects to my family as well, but I have not found out how yet. I believe it was by marriage only. Good luck with your searches. Take Care, Sharon Dover Romanek
