North Carolina Gazetteer only lists the stream -- rises in W. Columbus county, flows NW & SW and empties into the Lumber River (which *I believe was formerly called Drowning Creek). If you could get a copy of the book that has to do with the Scots and Lumber River there may be some help. I'm sorry I do not have the full title of the book (about 600-700 pages).
