Jim, You are probably right.....perhaps we should find another venue for our discussion. However, may I submit that I believe what we have been doing IS GENEALOGY. I think the discussion of those long gone provides both the opportunity for younger researchers to gain an insight into the lives of those whose interaction with us shaped our lives in later years and also adds one of the most difficult and rare aspects of genealogy - the "fleshing out" of all those obscure names and dates we collect. I have really enjoyed our short trip down memory lane. I also had my feet XRayed at Collins, sold used newspapers to Butler's fish market, delivered the Fayetteville Observer, clerked at Kermit's Grocery, got a 5-cent/hour raise and 2% commission at Western Auto, and measured allotment crops for the Federal Goverment, before leaving E-town. Not my lines, I live in CA, but dad was from NC, and I sure do enjoy reading about the affectionate memories, places, people and times, with these word pictures and the images they conjure up in my head. For those of us who have connection to Bladen and the families under discussion, but we never lived in Bladen, the discussion is priceless.
