We have an Ann Harrison (1733 - 1818) married to a Richard Salter (11 Jan 1733 - 1795). Children James Salter (dates unknown) and Mary Harrison Salter married Joseph Richard Kemp (my wife's connection). We also have Robert Harvey married to Anna Jane Poynter Streety - wife's 4th great grandmother. Anna Jane Poynter was first married to William T Streety who was high Sheriff of Bladen County 1810-120, had 7 children, 6 lived. When he died Anna Jane Married Robert. 3 children - 1 lived Harriet Newell Harvey who married Thomas Melvin Smith. Hi Allen! My cousin is descended from Robert Harvey (b. abt 1774 NC) and his first wife, Jennet White, thru' their son, John Travers Harvey (one of 8 children) and Rebecca Tinnin, thru' their son James Marcellus? Harvey and Catherine M. ___ thru' their son, James Nichols Harvey and Mary N. (Brown?). I believe the parents of Robert were Alexander Harvey and Ann White. Robert was also Sheriff of Bladen Co., NC we are told. He had another marriage to Sarah Lock but no children that we have found. This line migrated on to Lauderdale Co., MS where descendants remain today. Robert may have gone to Jackson, MS first. Do you all know why a child was named with the Newell name? There seems to be a connection with that family and they were neighbors in Lauderdale Co., MS later. Another name that seems connected is Tinnin, another neighbor.
