Can anyone tell me the name and location of the cemetery where Sion Smith is buried? Sion is one of four sons of James Smith, Jr. that served in the Civil War. I am trying to determine if he has a suitable monument that recognizes his military service. The info below relates to his enlistment. He later moved to Columbus County, NC and died 1903, Waccamaw Township, Columbus County, NC and he is believed to be buried there. SMITH, SION, Private, resided in Bladen County and enlisted in New Hanover County at age 31, November 4, 1861 for twelve months. Present or accounted; for through August 1864. 2nd Co. I, 36th Regiment N.C.T. (2nd Regiment N. C. Artillery) Wayne Atkinson
There is a grave for Sion Smith in the Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery in Bolton, Columbus County. I have a pic of it if you need it.
