I know that Joseph and Carraway are listed in William Byrd III's Bladen County North Carolina Tax Digest Volumes I & II, but I honestly do not know what other sources they would be mentioned in other than those. Joseph is mentioned in Volume I of Byrd's book which covers the years 1768-1776. Carraway is mentioned in both Volumes. The other volume covers the years 1776-1784. And I believe Carraway is mentioned in that one. I cannot recall the pages are. I have a perplexing problem that perhaps you can help with. I have seen that you have done a lookup on William Cromartie and his wife Ruhammah Doane. My question relates to their daughter Mary (bn 1778) and more specifically, her husband Archibald McNabb. Archibald is said to have been born in about 1775 in what was then Bladen. He and Mary married in Bladen in 1803. What I am looking for is the identity of the parents of Archibald. I have no idea which of you myriad resources would shed light on this question. Archibald and Mary evidently had the following children: John 1790 never married Daniel 1795 married unknown Amy 1804 never married James G. 1802 married Elizabeth Pittman Mary 1806 married James Pittman It seems unlikely but possible I suppose that Mary Cromartie was the mother of John or Daniel. All were born in the vicinity of Bladen/Robeson and all died in Tattnall County, GA, except for James G., who died in Putnam County, Florida. Any help would be appreciated. If there is a fee please advise me and I'll send it forthwith.
