    1. [NCBLADEN] McDowell Cemetery in Bladen County
    2. There is a McDowell Cemetery about 3.5 miles from Elizabethtown, listed in Cemeteries of Bladen County North Carolina Vol III of IV. From Elizabethtown go west on Hwy 87 about 3.5. milles, the cemetery is on land that was the old McDowell Plantation on the banks of the Cape Fear River, near what was known as Courthouse Landing. Today, this is industrial property, and permission and an escourt would be required when going to this cemetery. No marker was in the cemetery for "Obediah Eason" more than 20 years ago when the cemetery was surveyed by Wanda Suggs Campbell. I'm want to see if "Obediah Eason" may be buried in this cemetery. He was an overseer on Col. John McDowell's farm, and was thrown off a horse in 1868, and died. We think he may have been buried in a McDowell Cemetery, since we can't find him anywhere else. He is not buried with his wife, or other family members. I would appraciate any info anyone has.....we have been looking for over 20 years!!
