Seems almost all the Presbyterian records I see are like that. The death of my Benjamin Ross was only mentioned in passing in the records of the Presbyterian Church he belonged to in NC and then, no month or day given, just the year. Guess I'm lucky to have that. Could you tell me what the book has to say regarding George Ross and Samuel M. Green, please? Thank you again. This is NOT of collection of records involving marriages, memberships, deaths, etc. In other words this is not a people book. The index lists Nancy Green, Mrs. Nathaniel Green, Samuel M. Green and George Ross. I am so surprised that neither is listed in CHRONICLES OF ST. MARK'S PARISH SANTEE CIRCUIT AND WILLIAMSBURG TOWNSHIP SOUTH CAROLINA 1731-1885. Both Isaac Green and Reuben Ross were living there in 1769-1772. Isaac Green died there 1772. Reuben Ross and family lived there until abt 1776. Actually, I believe Reuben's widow, Priscilla Green Ross and children were there until just after 1788. By any chance were there Green or Ross families in the book? Children of Isaac Green named in his 1769 St. Mark's Parish will: sons Robert and George, bequeathed all property and named executors. sons John and Moses. daughters Sarah Anne Norman, Alse Lansdale, Priscilla Ross. witnesses to the will: Bartlett Henson and Andrew Hilton Inventory done 25 July 1772 by Thomas Knighten, James Barwick/Borwick and John James. Robert Green appeared in the Court of Ordniary there in St. Mark's May 1772 to qualify as executor of his father, Issac Green's will. George apparently did not appear since he is not in that record. Moses Green was married at least twice, possibly 3 times. One of his wives was Comfort Cantey, his last wife was a Margaret unknown. I believe he may have 1st been married to an Ann Connell or McConnell. Children of Reuben Ross and Priscilla Green Ross Moses b. 9-26-1762 Elizabeth b. 3-16-1764 (married Jesse Hilton) Benjamin A or H b. 4-10-1766 (married Saphira Frizzell) Solomon A b. 5-25-1769 Hannah b. 6-8-1771 (married 1st unknown Coleman, 2nd Nathaniel Wickham Marion) Priscilla b. 6-16-1774 Stephen b. 7-24-1776 (married 1st Sarah Baxter, Daughter of John Baxter and Ann Ridgill , 2nd Elizabeth Huggins, widow of Jacob Anderson) Priscilla Green Ross was Presbyterian. I don't know about Reuben Ross, if he had been Quaker, he'd have sure been dis for mou. Thank you in advance for any additional help. Audrey In a message dated 9/8/2005 11:00:36 A.M.
