He married Catherine Moon/Moore in 1790 (she was born 1759 in either Bladen or Henry County, North Carolina). She must have been a second wife as he had twin daughters Susan (Molly) & Mary (Polly) Lewis born Jan. 1, 1781 in Surry or Guilford County, North Carolina. He also had a son Solomon Jr. born 1791 in North Carolina. Some of the family names are Charles, Isaac, William, James, Reuben, Isaac, Stephen, Cyrus & John. It is thought that he may have had connections to William, Fielding, and Jessie Lewis families who also settled in Claiborne County Tennessee. An early Missouri history book says Solomom Jr. and an Axley Lewis were two of the early settlers in Livingston/Carroll County Missouri area along with James Bunch. I have no clue as to Solomon 1750's siblings, parents, first wife, or other children. Can any connections be found in Bladen County Lewis family research? Solomon apparently left Bladen/Cumberland County when he volunteered for several 3-6 month tours in the war. He then says he lived in Henry County, Virginia; Washington County, Virginia or Tennessee; and finally Claiborne County, Tennessee by about 1810.Tennessee. Solomon died there 3-6-1843. Any leads/ideas/help? Thanks!!! Oh, there is apparently also a family tradition of being connected to the Merriweather Lewis family -- but you know how those things can go.
