September 25th 1788; John Bradley Cowan and his wife Catherine Nicoljon (Cate? this is her Bible given to her three days after her wedding; John Nicoljon Cowan and his wife Ann. M. Millan m. 5th Nov, 1807 Also featured is Magnus Cowan and his 2 wives: Lovedy Arnett m. July 25th 1738, and Jannet McAlester March 26th 1752. From # 50 This is the Will of William J. Cowan dated April 14, 1855, formerly of Bladen but now of Washington, D.C.. It only mentions "Stepson & Executor: James W. Lesesne". From # 46 This volume has the Saltar family Bible and mentions: Elizabeth Saltar was born Thursday the 8th of February 1770 about six o'clock in the morning. (Married John Cowan). Elisabeth Cowan departed this life in the morning the twenty seventh of April 1795 in the 26th year of her age. (Was mother of Gen. William Cowan of S.C.)
