    3. Hi Sam, I can find this group from 1768 on Citizens and Immigrants, S.C., 1768). From # 526 Brownlee, John, Sr. b. 1759, Ireland d. 1827 He came to America and settled about 1768. He served as a surgeon and was taken prisoner in the fall of Charleston but was later paroled. Holman (let me know if you need the complete cite) . NOTE: George Brownlee is also listed but very little information. From # 513 BROWNLEE, JOHN b. c.1758 John Brownlee enlisted in Augusta County, Virginia, in the Sixteenth Virginia Regiment under Capt. Thomas Bell and Col, William Grayson. He was in the battle at Cowpens (he did not state the names of his officers), where is was wounded by balls in the cheek and thigh. Brownlee was granted pension on his applications executed 29 May 1818 and 26 June 1820 in Greene County, Kentucky. His children were: Sally, Polly, Jane, Caroline, and William. He had a second son but did not state his name. FPAS35799. From # 600 Brownlee, Alexander (Va.). Ensign of Grayson's Continental Regiment, 1st November, 1777; resigned 27th January, 1778. Brownlee, Alexander (-). Ensign, ___; killed at Guilford, 15th March, 1781. Brownlee, John (Va.). Surgeon's Mate Virginia Regiment, ___; taken prisoner at Charleston, 12th May, 1780.
