I asked several older family members about the use of Surnames as first names in our family. I was told that many times our family would use surnames of families that were close or respected by our family as first names for their children. You will find the name Streety used as a first name in both the Cain and Davis families. Also the last name Richardson is used as a first or middle name in many children. Most of these families lived very close to one another.
