Hi Dee, It was a cold ,rainy day Thurs, so I went to UNC Library and got really lucky. Found book about Brown Marsh Presbyterian Church minutes from early 1810's onwards. Lot of good stuff in there! Ann Clark - born 12 Dec 1814 and baptized 12 Nov 1815, father Daniel Clark ( not Donald as on IGI) and mother was Flora Campbell, also found - Neill Clark - born 9 Mar 1817 and baptized 13 Apr 1817, same parents. Surely these are the same Daniel Clark and Flora Campbell mentioned in old mail on the site, who came to Wilmington in Aug 1804 and then to Bladen. Do you have anything on any more children born between 1804 and 1814 Thanks Henry Lester
Hi Henry, Frankly the rainy day at the UNC library sounds fabulous! I was just about to give up and then I crossed my fingers for the cemetery listings hoping that one might say Daniel Clark, father of ____. You got very lucky. From #33 WHITE PLAINS PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH CEMETERY In Memory of DANIEL CLARK, born in Scotland 1778, came to America August 1804, married FLORA CAMPBELL from Scotland, died Oct. 7, 1854, buried one mile East of here. Children of this union: DOUGAL CLARK, NEILL CLARK, PEGGY C. PERRY, CATHERINE C. BUIE, EMELINE C. EDWARDS, CHRISTINE C. PRIEST, MARY CLARK, ISABELL C. SMITH, MRS. RUSS, NANCY C. BRIGHT. According to the Bladen County Heritage book (# 17) Daniel Clark, Flora Campbell Clark, Neill Clark and Margaret McBryde (Clark) are all buried in the Hector Clark Cemetery (one mile from the White Plains Church). In checking the Hector Clark Cemetery listing there are two unmarked graves plus Neill and Margaret McBryde Clark and 4 others. I would be interested in the Brown Marsh book you speak of. Can you give the title, author so I can check into it?
