I read your reply and offer the following info. William Henry Beatty was born Dec 15, 1768, Dublin, IRE, the son of Samuel Beatty and Bridget Day-Beatty-White-Anders. He died June 13, 1853, Rowan, Bladen County, NC. William married Sophia E. Gibbs, daughter of George Gibbs, who owned the GIBBS Plantation located in Bladen County. I have learned that the Gibbs owned over 60 slaves prior to the emancipation. I do not know if a list exists with the first names of all the slaves owned. I do know that most of them are named in wills bequesting them to other family members as property. The problem I have is, I don't know if the list exists under the GIBBS wills or BEATTY wills. Could you assist me in the matter. The name I am interested is Lucien (slave baby boy) or the named of his slave mother. Thank you, I'll keep in touch.
