I know better. My first Edward Wilson was born c1765 and his first wife, Charity GODWIN was born c1768. Charity died c1811 in Columbus County, NC and Edward remarried to Rebecca ?White? c1812. Have not been able to find marriage records for them, but their first child was born in 1813. I am descended from second wife Rebecca and their son Edward. I am also descended from the brother of Charity Godwin, Reddick Godwin. Believe both Charity and Reddick to be children of David Godwin, who was a Loyalist. I believe the Edward Wilson family were of the Primitive Baptist Faith and they probably belonged to the Porter Swamp Primitive Baptist Church in Bladen/Columbus County. Have searched long for any church records for this church before 1830 when the family left NC for Montgomery and Pike Counties in AL. Any suggestions welcome.
