Hi Dee, I am trying to find out if any of the following were paying taxes in Bladen County from about 1775 through 1800. I can't remember at the moment just when Bladen was formed. Joshua Lee, Stephen Lee, Levi Lee, Jesse Lee. I think my Lee ancestors left NC. around 1800 and settled in Barnwell County S.C. Then some of them came on to my neck of the woods. I have found out that my GGGrandaddy, Joshua Lee's daddy was a Stephen Lee who was born around 1798. The 1850 Dale County Census says he was born in NC. However, in 1820 he is living in Barnwell South Carolina with young wife Sarah Creel Lee. I am trying to find out who Stephen 's daddy was. By any chance, would you happen to have any books on Barnwell SC. and Orange County SC. that list any deeds, wills, or marriage records od a Joshua Lee, Stephen Lee, Levi Lee, Jesse Lee, Joseph Lee, or Michael Lee? They really stuck with their Biblical Names. These records that I need would run from around 1800 to about 1840. I know that you probably don't deal much with SC. records, but it is worth a shot. Once again, thanks for your time and help. Jimmy Davis
