Hi Ed, Yes, we have corresponded before: in April of last year. We were working on South Carolina records in the 1700s. >From # 11 An Elias Jenneret's Will was filed in Brunswick County in 1765 and is recorded in Deed Book A, page 15. [Brunswick County was formed in 1764 from New Hanover and Bladen counties. Recording of Wills on a regular basis began about 1869. Some very early Wills were recorded in Will Books A and B.] >From # 4 John Chicken witnessed a land transaction in Bladen County on December 30, 1774, and another one on March 4, 1779. I have a feeling that we corresponded before and you kindly helped me. I am not sure where to tell you to look, but here is what I know, John Edmond and his brother Isaac Chicken are found in a few of the early 1800s records of Columbus Co, NC and perhaps in Robeson Co. In 1802 John changed his name from John Chicken to John Edmond, sometims given as Edmonds, John and Isaac are two of several children of Margaret [Guerry] Chicken named in the will of Elias Jennerette in New Hanover in the late 1700s. The family was from South Carolina, the father being Thomas Chicken, the son of Col. George Chicken. What I hope to find is something of the two Chicken's families, and any other information, then to attempt to contact descendents for additional information, if available. Thanks for your help.
