    3. Dear Dee - I have recently joined this list and may have missed the dates that constitute "Early" for Pee Dee settlers. I am looking for my ancestor, John Bethune Martin. His father was Murdock/Murdoch Martin and his mother was Flora Bethune - they came to NC from Skye, Scotland sometime after the battle of Culloden Moor. John Bethune Martin's grandparents were Capt. John Martin, a loyalist, and Marion "Sarah" MacLeod who also came over to NC from Skye. Several of Murdock's brothers also settled in NC. Murdock had two other sons named Angus and Farquar. I'm really just looking for information on John Bethune Martin to help me figure out who he married. He was born in 1791 and married before 1820. According to census records, he lived around the Pee Dee and Yadkin. Thanks for any help on John Bethune, J.B. or Jno. B. Martin.
