Nita Raybourn, Your McAlister connection was in the CMA J07 line. You may recall that I previously sent you information on this family. There were a Daniel and Robert Montgomery, undoubtedly brothers, who witnessed Isabel McAlister' father, Alexander McAlister's 1796 Will in Cumberland Co, NC indicating that both Montgomerys were adults born before 1776. Daniel Montgomery later married Isobel McAlister and joined his wife and two of her brothers, Hector and James McAlister, in signing a 1801 Deed conveying a 200 acre property where her late father, Alexander McAlister had last lived, located near the present juncture of Drowning Creek, Cumberland County and Hoke County to Samuel Williams. Alexander McAlister is CMA A29 the older brother of my ancestor, Angus McAlister CMA A17. While this Robert Montgomery may not be the one you seek, I believe that the area of Cumberland County where the property was in 1801 was formerly Bladen County. I have been unable to trace what happened to any of this Alexander's children although I know the eldest daughter, Florah married a McNair before her father died.
