I am trying to find clues to the wife of Eli SINGLETARY who is listed in censuses as Ann born in Wales. Using the census records she was possibly born between 1838 and 1841 and a guess at marriage date would be 1850-1854. In 1850 Eli is in the household of his father and the 1st child was born about 1855. The family emigrated to Texas in the late 1850's or early 1860's. So far I have found Texas death certificates for two of their children; on one Ann's maiden name is given as Elizabeth Ann Hammeer; on the second, Ann Williams. I am searching for other death certificates in Texas to break the tie! The marriage records for this time period of 1850-54 do not seem to exist for Bladen Co. Can anyone on List offer any other avenues of research for me to pursue? I don't know that they were married in Bladen Co. but this is where the Singletary family lived and I must start somewhere.
